Privacy Policy
Effective 23 October 2026
This policy explains what information GoLive (the macOS app and the website letsgolive.app) uses, why, where it is kept and how you can remove it. GoLive is made by Samar Kishor ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@letsgolive.app.
In short: GoLive runs on your Mac. Your Google sign-in and your settings stay on your Mac, encrypted. We do not run servers that receive your YouTube data, we do not sell data, and we do not use it for advertising.
1. YouTube API Services
GoLive uses YouTube API Services to work with your YouTube channels. By connecting a channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
You can remove GoLive's access to your Google account at any time from your Google security settings: security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. You can also remove a channel inside the app (Settings → Where to stream → Remove).
2. Information GoLive accesses from Google
When you connect a channel, GoLive asks for the YouTube permission "Manage your YouTube account" (scope youtube.force-ssl). It uses this access only to provide the features you use:
| Information | Why GoLive uses it |
|---|---|
| Your channel's name and ID | To show which channels are connected. |
| Live broadcasts and live streams on your channel (title, description, privacy, status, stream key) | To create, start and end the lives you start in the app, and to send your video to the right stream. |
| Live chat messages (message text, the viewer's display name and channel ID, Super Chat amounts) | To count votes in battles, show the chat in the app, and send replies you approve or allow. |
| Number of people watching the live | To show it in the app and on screen. |
| Privacy status of the saved replay | To make the replay public after the live, if you switch that on. |
| Thumbnails you choose | To set the live's thumbnail on YouTube. |
GoLive does not read your email, contacts, files, watch history or any other Google data.
3. Where your information is kept
- On your Mac only. Your Google sign-in token, stream keys, AI key and settings are stored in the app's settings file on your Mac and encrypted with the macOS keychain.
- Live chat is kept in the app's memory while you are live and is not saved after the live ends.
- We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage data from the app, and we do not run servers that receive your YouTube data.
4. When information leaves your Mac
- Google / YouTube — every YouTube action above is a direct request from your Mac to Google.
- AI provider (optional, off by default) — if you turn on AI chat replies, AI-written commentary or "Write with AI", the app sends the needed text (the chat message being answered and a few recent messages, or the battle's title, players and your channel description) to the AI provider you choose — Anthropic or OpenAI — using your own API key. Their privacy policies apply: Anthropic, OpenAI.
- Your own relay server (optional) — if you use "My server", the video and the destinations' stream keys are sent, encrypted, to a server that you own and run. We have no access to it.
- Facebook or other services (optional) — if you add their stream keys, your video is sent to them.
5. Google API Services User Data Policy
GoLive's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- We use Google user data only to provide and improve the user-facing features described above.
- We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to others, except to the AI provider you choose for the features you turn on, as described in section 4, or when required by law.
- No person reads your Google user data. It is processed automatically on your Mac.
- Google user data is not used to train AI models, by us or (when you use them) under the API terms of the AI providers.
6. Keeping and deleting your information
- Remove a channel in the app: its sign-in token is deleted from your Mac at once.
- Revoke access in your Google security settings: the token stops working immediately.
- Delete everything: quit the app and delete its folder
~/Library/Application Support/Live Studio(or the GoLive folder in newer versions), then delete the app. - The names and IDs of your connected channels are kept on your Mac only while the channel is connected. Live chat and viewer counts are used during the live and are not kept after it ends.
7. This website
letsgolive.app is a static website hosted on Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising. Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site; see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. If you email us, we use your email only to reply.
8. Children
GoLive is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
9. Security
Tokens and keys are encrypted at rest with the macOS keychain and sent only over encrypted connections to Google and the services you choose. Stream keys are hidden in the app's logs.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Important changes will also be shown in the app.
